Summary:
The policy has been updated to align with the requirements of NEW LAW (AB 181, 2022), which mandates that the State Superintendent of Public Instruction publicly disclose the special education funding generated by each local educational agency (LEA) for their Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). Additionally, SELPAs must now report to their member LEAs the amount of funding each LEA generates for the SELPA. The regulation has been updated to comply with NEW LAW (AB 181, 2022), which extends the deadline for developing an annual assurances support plan to July 1, 2027. The California Department of Education (CDE) will develop a template for the annual assurances support plan by July 1, 2026. Additional minor revisions have been made for clarity.
